You Only Look Once - Zimbabwe Exhibition

OHOS associate member Christopher Hunt took the 'You Only Look Once' photography exhibition to First Floor Galley in Harare, Zimbabwe earlier this month.

'You Only Look Once' was originally exhibited at OHOS in September 2014 by the YOLO collective consisting of Katy Pike (OHOS studio member), Lisa Barnard (OHOS intern), Tina Jenkins and Christopher Hunt.

The exhibition considers identity in a world of displacements for the three artists (Baoyang Chen, Rehan Miskci and Maggie Shannon) who all live and work in New York but have roots elsewhere. Through their work, they pick apart their ideas of the past and place in a quest to build a new and stable self, not defined by a sense of home. The show opened in Harare on 8th January and runs until 20th February.

New work

Cell 1
OHOS has been busy improving the ground floor of Brock Keep: upgrading electrics and lighting, re-glazing blocked windows, and installing a kitchenette and disabled WC.  Sometimes the work reveals unexpected beauty in the building's austerity.  Photographers Anna Mitchell and Mark Wetton have been inspired by the serene and poetic paintings of Vilhem Hammershøi.  For more of their photographs click this link
